Letter from Elder Gomm February 6, 2011

Hey Familia
So this week has been alittle bit normal.  I am finally getting into the habits of missionary life. Wake-up, breakfast, personal and companion study, classes, lunch, more classes, PE, even more classes, dinner and finally more classes.  So my goal  of playing soccer well is almost down the drain.  Lets just say there were some well placed kicks that I happened to be right in the way of the ball... and as I was rolling around on the grass in extreme pain, my CCM president was laughing his head off.  I really thought he was going to fall over because of how hard he was laughing. Now that was a painful day.
Yesterday was a very long day of proselyting, on a funny note my companion was karate chopped by this old lady that we were teaching.  Man she looked like Jackie Chan.  I was just smiling and listening as she was yelling and beating up my companion as we taught her.  What was even funnier was whenever I talked to her she was the happiest lady ever. When my companion talked it was a different story.
Now there was another contact we had she was a young single mother in her mid 20's with a daughter about 1 year old. She was at the point of not believing in God, after our visit I think she isn't giving up on God.  I shared Alma 30:44, which testifies  that there is a God. I know that with the Book of Mormon we gave her that she will receive a new hope in life. I just pray that the Lord will take her in his arms and watch out for her and her daughter.  how great is the power of Testimonies and Faith.

Love,
Elder Gomm
